TWICE Featured On National Television In Sweden

TWICE‘s hit song “TT” was featured as part of a question on Sweden version of hit game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?.

JYP Entertainment‘s popular girl group TWICE is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable K-Pop groups in Korea, and it seems that they’re quite popular in Sweden as well. In fact, the group’s song “TT” was even used in an episode of Smartare än en femteklassare, Sweden’s version of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? as part of a question.

In its eighth episode of season seven, the show brought out a young Swedish girl to cover “TT.” No doubt a fan of TWICE, the girl both sang and performed some of the choreography featured in the song. As the girl sang, a photo of Lasse Kronér‘s head, the show’s host, shot rainbows and danced about a screen. The audience can be heard clapping along enthusiastically with the song and applaud loudly when the girl is finished singing.

The question the contestant, Bertil Blues, and children were meant to answer was “In what language, besides English, is K-pop sung?” After some deliberation, both the children and the contestant answered correctly by saying K-pop is sung primarily in Korean.

The episode was aired by Swedish channel SVT1 on the sixth of May, 2017.
