Every K-Pop group has a leader responsible for the group and a maknae responsible for the group’s energy. They are two well-loved positions of great importance… until you get to SEVENTEEN. While the positions are still important, they regard each member as equals in everything they do, as you’ll see below.
Sports Seoul recently released several interviews of the leaders and maknaes of a few K-Pop groups to ask how they felt in that position. Today, we’re taking a look at SEVENTEEN’s interview!
Let’s see what leader S.Coups has to say!
Q: What’s your favorite thing about being the leader?
There’s nothing good about being a leader. I’m just a member.
Q: What’s difficult about being a leader?
Being a leader isn’t difficult. The leader is just a member.
Q: Do you envy the maknae (Dino)?
I don’t. The maknae is just a member.
Q: If you could be born again in the same group, would you be the leader or the maknae?
I would be thankful to be a member.
Q: Words of encouragement to the maknae for the new year?
Happy New Year, maknae.
Let’s see what Dino had to say next!
Q: What’s your favorite thing about being the maknae?
It’s good to have 12 strong hyungs around me.
Q: Is there anything difficult about being the maknae?
I have 12 strong hyungs around me too much.
Q: Are you jealous of the leader (S.Coups)?
Not really, he’s just a member.
Q: If you could be born again, would you want to be the leader or the maknae?
Anything is fine as long as I can debut together with my members.
Q: Words of encouragement to the leader for the New Year?
Happy New Year, leader.
Although the interview yielded somewhat hilarious results, we can clearly see just how close all of the SEVENTEEN members are!
