Korean Rapper Black Nut Lands Himself in Another Controversy with Violent and Misogynistic Lyrics

“I’ll beat you if that’s what it takes to make you mine. You’re my woman today.”

Rapper Black Nut recently featured in “Bless U” by Jhnovr, and he is receiving harsh criticism for the violent and misogynistic lyrics he used for the part.

In a song describing a woman’s beauty, Black Nut rapped the lyrics, “I’ll beat you if that’s what it takes to make you mine. You’re my woman today.

The controversial lyrics also include the lines, “No matter what I look like, I’m the real guy. If you don’t believe me, call the police” and “This is just a concept for my music. You better not misunderstand me“.

He then contradicted himself with the following lyrics, “I respect women more than anyone else. I don’t even use the word ‘prostitute’ carelessly. Believe me.

Regarding these lyrics, Hip-hop specialist and critic, Nam Sung Hoon stated, “Black Nut has always expressed his dissatisfaction how flexible hip-hop lyrics can be in terms of meaning. However, Black Nut actually takes advantage of the fact that freedom of expression has been maximized in Korea.

He continued, “American hip-hop has always tried to steer away from lyrics that express violence, ridicule, and assault against women and children, but Korea has yet to escape from the mindset of using such topics as a concept for their music.

Back in 2016, Black Nut was involved in another controversy for sexually harassing the rapper, KittiB in “Indigo Child”. As a result, KittiB sued Black Nut, which led to his sentence of 6 months in jail and 160 hours of volunteer service.
