Four girls from rural Thailand have become Internet sensations for their creative, low-budget BLACKPINK music video parodies.
The Deksorkrao quartet (Mommaem, Kungten, Som, and Kwang) currently have over 555k subscribers and 60 million views on YouTube, 39.6k Instagram followers, and over 400k followers on Facebook.
They are only 7 to 10 years old, but their incredibly resourceful, ingenious videos could put veteran parody artists to shame!
One of the things that makes Deksorkrao’s videos so amazing is the incredible camera work done by Kungten’s older brother, Sitthichai Rakpinit. He is able to imitate each music video’s original shots frame for frame so that each parody matches its source perfectly.
In addition to spot-on videography, Deksorkrao’s use of household props makes their videos comical by creating a funny strong contrast between the parody and the original video.
Deksorkrao’s latest cover, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” MV, has already gained an astounding 12 million views since being posted on August 19. It is currently their most popular parody to date, followed by…
…their BLACKPINK “Whistle” parody, which has 6 million views…
…and their BLACKPINK “As If It’s Your Last” parody, which has 5 million views.
