A new idol group is on its way to your radar and it’s 10 members strong. TRCNG from TS Entertainment formed last October and has already released a mini album, New Generation, and a single, “WHO AM I”.
An interesting fact about TRCNG is that 4 of its members have been public figures for some time now — they were all child actors! Kim Ji Hoon, Kim Ji Sung, Kim Hyun Woo, and Kim Kang Min were all in some major projects and, though their fully-matured looks may be unfamiliar, they’re familiar to many Koreans.
Check out these 4 idols’ child-actor credentials and how much they have changed since:
TRCNG’s lead vocal, Jihun, starred in 6 movies and 9 television series, which makes him something of a veteran child actor. His most well-known work is as Kim Tae Sung in The Queen’s Classroom.
Have to say, Jihun has grown up to be a damn good looking man.
Jisung was the little G-Dragon in the 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun. In a press interview, Jisung talked about how the experience helped him in preparing for TRCNG:
“The experiences I’ve had a child actor helped me look at cameras naturally and perform facial expressions.”
The same adorableness still remains intact today, obviously:
Kim Hyun Woo was the child actor counterpart of Lee Seung Ki in the popular comedy series, My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox.
“I played the child to Lee Seung Ki sunbae’s Cha Dae Woong in My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox. I actually worked with Kang Min then. It’s a nice surprise that we’re now working together as an idol group.”
His grown-up good looks prove that the casting people back in the day for My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox sure knew what they were doing.
Kim Kang Min has been in multiple television commercials, including PSAs for the Seoul Metropolitan Government and ads for McDonald’s.
“I filmed a McDonald’s commercial when I was in kindergarten and, I’m not sure if you will remember, but I was also in the movie Forever the Moment.”
Maybe it’s the water, but this guy looks just as cute now as he did back then.
