The 93rd Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, just announced Youn Yuh Jung as the winner. Fellow nominees included Maria Bakalova from Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Glenn Close from Hillbilly Elegy, Olivia Colman from The Father, and Amanda Seyfried from Mank.

This marks the 38th award Youn Yuh Jung has won in her career. The Oscar, however, is one of the more prestigious awards she has received. With this win, the veteran actress has also become the second-ever Asian person to take home an acting award from the Academy since 1958’s Actress In A Supporting Role category winner Miyoshi Umeki.

Youn Yuh Jung’s victory also marks the second consecutive year that a Korean person has successfully snatched an award at the Oscars. Last year, director Bong Joon Ho won four awards for his work on Parasite.
