Yoo Jae Suk donates 40 million won donation in support of Korean comfort women

Yoo Jae Suk receives praise online after his charitable support for an organisation towards the aid of comfort women was publicized.

On June 22nd, House of Sharing, a charitable organisation that supports the welfare of comfort women, posted the donation on their Twitter account saying, “Yoo Jae Suk made a total donation of 40 million. He donated 20 million won to the construction of the memorial and 20 million won as support for the women.”

It was also stated that he has made a donation of 20 million won back in July 2014, making a total of 60 million won at present.

The women, who were victims during the Japanese rule, were said to have appreciated the support given by his donation and interest. They are described to have earned their confidence and honour to continue their fight for an apology and compensation from Japan.

It can be recalled that the comedian promoted the charity during his Infinity Challenge’s Korea Speed Festival episode but was unable to continue due to an accident and number of technical issues.
