Will the YG Entertainment and Mnet drama concerning the “2015 MAMA” finally come to an end?

With the approaching date of this year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards, there has yet to be word whether any YG Entertainment artists will be making an appearance.

There has been rising speculation of a conflict between YGE and Mnet which began with iKON‘s odd exclusion from M! Countdown music charts for their warm-up and pre-release single My Type.

Following, YGE announced that they had yet to receive an invitation for MAMA and this was the reason why they were not attending, while Mnet responded that they were confused at the sudden statement as plans were not solidified yet and still ongoing. Currently, online a first lineup of attending artists have been revealed.

But YGE continues to state that their standing with Mnet is still good despite suspicions of conflict.

In a recent update, it’s been revealed that YGE’s main representative Yang Hyun Suk and representatives of Mnet have met to discuss the possible appearance of BIGBANG and iKON, two of YGE’s main artists to represent the agency this year.

But with nearly three weeks left until the event in Hong Kong, there’s no guarantee that the two artists will be able to make it due to their individual overseas scheduling and preparation time. Additionally, MAMA seems to overlap with BIGBANG’s Japan Dome Tour (Kyocera Dome in Osaka on December 1st) while iKON is said to be scheduled for a music video filming in early December.

The 2015 MAMA will take place on December 2nd in Hong Kong at the Asia World Expo.
