SM Entertainment highly speculated to boycott “2015 MAMA”?

The 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards is involved to yet another controversy as Girls’ Generation, EXO and other SM Entertainment artists remain vague of their appearances for the ceremony.

An article about the speculation was published on November 24th. It cited that as Mnet settled with YG Entertainment and allowed their artists to be included in the line-up, it was speculated to have gone the wrong way with SM Entertainment instead.

According to a representative, the competition between broadcasting and management agencies are high as the ceremony nears. However, as Mnet resolved their issues with YG Entertainment eventually allowing their artists to attend, other agencies were assumed to have boycotted the ceremony, largely causing an issue.

This was related to the Girls’ Generation or EXO’s attendance yet to be confirmed as talks between the two sides are being held.

If true, SM Entertainment will be the second company to refuse the invite after FNC Entertainment declared their absence, which caused criticisms from the netizens.
