NU’EST’s Baekho To Make Musical Debut In “Midnight Sun”

This is the third NU’EST member to join musical theater.

NU’EST‘s Baekho is going to be making his musical debut! On March 30, Pledis Entertainment and SHINSWAVE confirmed that he would be starring in Midnight Sun.

Midnight Sun is a thrilling romance musical about a girl named Hae Na who cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. She suddenly meets Ha Ram, who sings the “brightest song of the sun.” Baekho will be playing the male lead, Ha Ram, the shining boy who inspires Hae Na. Ha Ram and Hae Na represent the sun and the moon.

Midnight Sun is based on a 1993 Hong Kong film and has been adapted in many different ways, including a Japanese novel, a Japanese film, a J-Drama, a Hollywood film, and several stage plays.

Baekho will be joining the star-studded cast of SHINee‘s Onew, GOT7‘s Youngjae, and DAY6‘s Wonpil, who all play Ha Ram at different schedules. Playing Hae Na will be Lee Ah Jin, Cho Hoon, Kang Hye In, and Lovelyz‘s Kei.

This will be Baekho’s first musical appearance, and he will be the third NU’EST member to walk the stage. Previously, Minhyun was cast in 2019’s Marie Antoinette, and Ren was cast in 2020’s Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Midnight Sun is set to open on May 1 at Gwanglim Art Center until July 25
