MONSTA X held an online showcase to celebrate the release of their latest comeback, “FANTASIA X”. During the interview, Jooheon explained the true life of celebrities in the best metaphor of the decade!
As MONSTA X continues to climb in fame thanks to their undeniable talent and synergy, their lives look as if it’s just smooth sailing in all its glitz and glamour! But Joohoney pointed out that it’s far from the case.
He compared the life of a celebrity as a swan. A swan looks beautiful and graceful as it floats down along a pond, but underneath the water surface, the swan is swimming vigorously with its legs and webbed feet!
Jooheon used the metaphor as an inspiration for their sub-track, “Zone”.
I compared us to swans. Swans above water show a glamorous image, and it’s a lot like the life of a celebrity. We look glamorous but underneath the water, swans are paddling quickly with their feet.
The life of a celebrity may look fun and glamorous with all the bright lights and fame, but behind the scenes, they’re shedding blood, sweat, and tears to get to where they are.
Jooheon wants those who’re busy paddling to try stopping for a while and let life take the lead. He wants to console the exhausted souls of his fans and tell them that it’s okay to just go with the flow.
I compared it to the life of a celebrity as the topic for the song because I wanted to trust the flow of water and let life lead us without us paddling.
I wanted it to be a comforting message to our fans. It’s okay to just go with the flow.
And with that simple yet strong message, Joohoney just summarized the members’ hectic lives in one metaphor and gave strength to his Monbebes suffering around the world.
What a true artist of this century!
