KCON heads to Japan in April with Kangnam as its ambassador

The world’s largest and yearly Hallyu convention and concert KCON will be expanding its roots from Los Angeles to Japan this April as it looks to hit the global market.

In addition to keeping its yearly tradition with an event later this year in Los Angeles, KCON will be held for the first time in April, revealed CJ E&M on February 16th.

First held in Anaheim, Los Angeles, California in 2012, KCON has since then expanded, nearly doubling its attendance and expanding its venue each year. KCON is split into two different events, including a convention that takes up the majority of the day and ends with a star-studded concert to wrap up the day. The convention enables Hallyu lovers to enjoy a vast amount of activities with samples of Korean food, fashion, dramas, films, culture and more.

With news of KCON hitting Japan this year (KCON 2015 Japan), anticipation for its debut in the country has greatly increased with both Korean music lovers and businesses who are looking to expand in the country.

KCON 2015 Japan will similarly be decorated with Korean language courses, a cover contest, beauty sessions, and more to fulfill a rich experience in K-culture. To wrap up the day, M! Countdown will complete the evening as the main event with an artist-filled stage of performances. The event will take place at the Saitama Super Arena on April 22nd with M.I.B‘s Korean-Japanese vocalist Kangnam as its ambassador.

Kangnam has recently seen a rise in popularity after successfully appearing in several variety shows, making him the obvious choice as KCON 2015 Japan‘s front runner.
