“K-Pop Star 4” unprecedented rule change allows Lee Jin Ah and Jung Seung Hwan to join Antenna Music

Since its inception in 2011, SBS K-Pop Star has broken its own rules and allowed its runner-up and third place contestants to choose one of the three agencies participating in the show.

On April 19th, a special segment of the show was aired where runner-up Jung Seung Hwan and third place contestant Lee Jin Ah were given the choice of choosing between JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and Antenna Music, all of which are represented by judges J.Y. Park, Yang Hyun Suk, and Yoo Hee Yeol respectively.

Usually, this choice is only given to the first place winner, and in this case, this year’s winner Katie Kim, who immediately chose to join YG Entertainment upon her winning announcement.

The K-Pop Star 4 contestants revealed on the segment that they would like to join Antenna Music. Visiting said agency, the two were happily accepted.

Jung Seung Hwan explained the reason behind his choosing, “I was thinking where I would be happy making music for the next 10, 20 years.”
