Jung Joon Young And Choi Jonghoon Maintain Their Innocence For Aggravated Rape Charges In First Trial

They attended their first trial today.

Both Jung Joon Young and Choi Jonghoon have denied charges of aggravated rape during their first trial.

Jung Joon Young and Choi Jonghoon attended their first trial on the afternoon of July 16th at the Seoul Central District Court for violation of the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

 

Jung Joon Young’s lawyer stated that while Jung Joon Young admits to his charges on illegal filming and to having sexual relations with the victim, it occurred by mutual consent.

(Jung Joon Young) admits to his charges related to illegal filming. Moreover, he admits to having sexual relations with the victim but he did not plan the rape of the unspecified woman with the other defendants and the woman was not in a state of unconsciousness.

Choi Jonghoon’s lawyer also denied all charges, claiming that he did not participate in any sexual relations with the victim.

(Choi Jonghoon) met with the victim but there was no sexual harassment. There were no sexual relations with the victim and the victim was not in a state of unconsciousness. Even if there were sexual relations, it did not happen under a state of unconsciousness. We apologize for causing public criticism.

Meanwhile, Jung Joon Young was arrested on charges of violating the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Crimes (illegal filming) and Choi Jonghoon has been charged with violating the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Crimes (quasi-rape).
