IU Reportedly Has Dropped Out Of Upcoming K-Drama “Money Game,” Netizens Respond

IU was anticipated to be returning to screen with a new role in the upcoming K-Drama  Money Game. However, it appears that the famous artist/actress has decided to step down from the production.

JTBC News reported on May 27 that, according to a drama affiliate, the idol/actress would be stepping down from the drama. The report states that actress Chun Woo Hee will be taking over the role.

K-Drama Money Game is based on a webtoon of the same name. The drama has been much anticipated for its stellar cast. Actors Ryu Joon Yeol, Park Jung Min, and Park Hae Joon will now be starring alongside Chun Woo Hee.

Although there has been no word on why IU chose to step down, fans’ and netizens’ response was immediate. Many were disappointed to hear that they will not be seeing IU on the anticipated cast list.

Meanwhile, IU’s currently soaking in Cannes, France, due to her upcoming movie Broker entering The Cannes Film Festival. It has been reported that the movie, Broker received a 12-minute standing ovation after its screening.
