MBC has confirmed Infinite Challenge will be replaced by a music quiz show in April. A source hinted that the show will place established singers and idols together in a music-focused variety quiz show. Previously the network announced it would be a completely new entertainment program, but details are still pending.
“Producing director (PD) Choi Haen Ho is in the middle of preparing a new entertainment program with the goal of airing at the end of April. It will be a music entertainment show but we are still working on a concrete concept.”
Choi Haen Ho was brought in after long-running PD Kim Tae Ho announced his departure in February, which put the future of the variety show in question. Initially, Choi Haen Ho intended to continue with Infinite Challenge, at least temporarily, but after discussions with cast members, crew and the network, it was decided a new show would be created instead.
Choi Heun Ho has worked on hit shows such as I Live Alone, We Got Married, Show! Music Core and Star Audition.
Infinite Challenge will come to a short end on March 31 after 13 years with continuation-plans still on the table for discussion.
