COVID-19 has forced Hong to exit the restaurant industry for good.

The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another victim, this time with Hong Suk Chun‘s restaurant in Itaewon shutting its doors for good.

Due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, in order to take preventative measures we will temporarily shut down, starting on March 10 until the pandemic ends. Everyone please take care of your health and stay safe.

On the latest episode of SBS‘s Curious Stories Y, Hong’s struggles were showcased. The episode featured the last day at his Italian restaurant “My Chelsea,” located in Itaewon.

Hong opened up about his recent hardships, citing that the COVID-19 pandemic was too much to overcome, despite his best efforts.

Regulars flooded into his restaurant to say their good-byes, putting a smile on Hong’s face. With this, the last standing restaurant in Hong’s portfolio has come to a close.
