Netizens are criticising recent reports that fans were victimised over irregular ticket price hikes on Chen’s musical.
A report on December 17th publicised allegations about the controversial seating plan and prices for Chen’s musical. It highlighted a suspected occurrence that as Chen attracts a number of fans of this musical appearances, a specific section of seats were being sold higher than it was originally published. It was found out the said seats where marked as regular prices during regular run, however, they were noticeably 30,000 won (roughly $30) higher during Chen’s performances.
As fans expressed their anger over the sudden hike, the organisers of the musical released that there had been a mistake in their ticketing process. It was explained that as the tickets are still being sold out as VIP tickets accidentally but promised to put it back to its regular price.
The musical In The Heights caused a lot of attention following Chen’s casting. It is his first musical performance since making his debut with EXO.
