EXO’s Lay Becomes Highest Charting Chinese Artist Ever on Billboard 200

The #21 position makes him the highest-Billboard-charting Chinese solo artist ever.

Lay‘s latest Chinese-American release, “NAMANANA”, officially debuted at #21 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The chart ranks the best-selling & most-listened to albums of the week in the U.S. based on physical sales, digital sales, and streaming data.

The #21 position makes him the highest-Billboard-charting Chinese solo artist ever.

Billboard notes that the highest charting K-pop solo artist is J-Hope at #38, but “NAMANANA” is a Chinese and English album and thus, counted as M-pop (Mandarin pop) by Billboard.

In the week ending on October 25, Lay sold 24,000 album units (of which 23,000 were physical), which demonstrates his immense fandom power in the West.

Billboard also noted that Lay earned his first #1 on the World Albums chart, though he has been on the chart 4 times total — as a solo artist.

In combination with his #1 rankings as an EXO member, this is his third time at #1 on the World Albums chart.

Lay is also #7 on the Social 50 chart. “NAMANANA” is also #14 on the Digital Album chart and #1 on the Independant Album chart too!

Lay’s “third child” “NAMANANA” is one that he not only recorded but played a big part in producing and writing as well!

There is no doubt that Xbacks and EXO-L are very proud of the third child’s latest achievements.
