BTS Win Shorty Award For Best Music

BTS was announced the winner of the “BEST MUSIC” category for the 9th Shorty Awards!

The Shorty Awards is an annual awards ceremony that honors the best content of social media of each calendar year. It recognizes those that release great and viral content on social media platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, and more.

Votes are received from online voting and scoring from the Real Time Academy.

This year, BTS won the award for the “BEST MUSIC” category under Arts and Entertainment as the only Asian artist! Shorty Awards recognized their music, great visuals, strong presence on Twitter and Instagram, and even called them the “most famous KPOP group in the world!”

Visuals, charisma, and amazing work like “Not Today” got them recognized by fans.

BTS were up against big international artists such as Ariana Grande, Britney SpearsChance The Rapper, Drake, Ingrid Michaelson, Mac Miller, Missy Elliott, Solange, Tegan & Sara, The 1975, and Twenty One Pilots!

As a result, it was announced that BTS won “BEST MUSIC,” proving their powerful influence and mass popularity on social media.

Their achievements include becoming the first K-pop group on the Billboard Social 50 list, garnering over 5 million followers on Twitter, being recognized by Forbes as the most retweeted artist, becoming the most viewed K-pop group in YouTube history, and even becoming the first K-pop group to be nominated on the Billboard Music Awards!

Congratulations to BTS and A.R.M.Y on this achievement!
