BTS Reveal Their Plans For Celebrating The GRAMMY Awards This Weekend

Tune into the GRAMMYs on March 14 to find out whether BTS will win.

In a new interview with AP Entertainment, BTS revealed how they plan to watch and celebrate the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards next week.

After a record year of incredible worldwide achievements, BTS finally received their first-ever GRAMMY nomination in November last year. The group’s no.1 English-language hit “Dynamite” is nominated for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” alongside tracks like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me” and Taylor Swift’s “Exile” featuring Bon Iver.

BTS is also set to perform at the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 14, marking the first time a Korean act will perform as an official nominee. However, due to the current pandemic situation, BTS’s performance will be pre-recorded in advance of the live ceremony.

So, since the group won’t be attending the GRAMMYs in person this year, how do they plan on spending the day? The members revealed their plans in a new interview with AP Entertainment.

First, Suga noted that the awards ceremony will be in the “very early hours” in South Korea. As in previous years, the winner of the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” category will likely be announced during the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony, which is held in advance of the main ceremony. Hosted by Jhené Aiko, the Premiere Ceremony will begin airing at 4:00 a.m. Korean standard time.

Since the ceremony is so early, Suga says there’s not much the group can do. However, he revealed they’ll “probably have a glass of wine” and “hug each other.”

RM seconded Suga’s plans, saying they’ll likely “sip a cup of champagne or a glass of wine.” He also stressed how watching the live stream together will be like having “a ceremony with ARMYs all over the world“. As such, many fans are speculating that the members will host a live broadcast to stream together with fans.

If we win, it will be a success which we made together. It’s between we and ARMY.

Jimin and Jungkook shared similar heartwarming sentiments about how they owe everything to the fans. Jimin revealed that he was in disbelief when he found out BTS received a GRAMMY nomination, and he still can’t believe it now.

We need to thank ARMY for giving us this honor and opportunity.

Likewise, Jungkook shared how the nomination has brought BTS even closer with ARMY. “ARMY was more excited than anyone when they heard about the GRAMMY nomination,” he explained.

I think we were made even more certain that there is this special connection between us and ARMY. And, you know, even though we’re far apart, we felt really close and we’re very thankful.
