BTS Receive Plaques For Historic Reign Of “Butter” On Billboard Hot 100 From Columbia Records Chairman & CEO

Ron Perry congratulated BTS on their achievement!

Since it was released, BTS‘s “Butter” became a hit instantly and quickly made history. It was the official song of the summer as it continually charted on Billboard Hot 100. Ultimately, it became the longest leading single on the chart for this year as it reigned at No. 1 for ten weeks. Additionally, it remained in the top 10 for even longer.

Now, the BTS members have been presented with plaques in honor of their achievement. While on their 3 day stay in New York City, BTS and HYBE CEO Shin Yong Jae met with Columbia Records Chairman and CEO Ron Perry.

Perry posted a group photo on his Instagram account, congratulating the group. They are posed with seven plaques, one for each member.

Congrats @bts.bighitofficial & @columbiarecords for 10 weeks at #1 on @billboard Hot 100 for “Butter”.

He and his wife, producer, and songwriter, Jenna Andrews also served as co-writers on “Butter,” inspired by Michael Jackson‘s “Smooth Criminal.” While BTS are still under HYBE’s BigHit Music, Columbia Records helps distribute BTS’s music in the United States.

After Perry shared his post with BTS, his contemporaries shared their congratulations in the comment section. Grammy-winning rapper and songwriter JOZZY (co-wrote Lil Nas X‘s “Old-Town Road”), music agent Matt Galle (his client list includes Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars, and more), Roc Nation Executive VP Andrew Gould, and Music Manager Jake Posner are among the few.
