Louis Vuitton Reveals BTS’s Full 200th Birthday Trunk Design—Here’s What Each Member Drew

How are they so talented at *everything*? 🤩

As Louis Vuitton celebrates the 200th birthday of its founder, the luxury fashion brand has called on 200 of the world’s leading visionaries to redesign the iconic Louis Vuitton trunk. Named the official house ambassadors of Louis Vuitton back in April, BTS is one of the biggest names in that lineup. After a preview of their design dropped last week, the full BTS trunk has finally been revealed—and here’s what each member contributed.

Each side of the trunk features a different interpretation of the iconic “LV” wordmark. The front of the trunk shows the logo drawn in reddish-brown and black bubble letters surrounded by an abstract background.

Look closely, and you’ll spot leader RM‘s signature on the side.

The next side brings The Most Beautiful Moment in Life track “Whalien 52” to mind with vibrant blue whale illustrations surrounded by the Louis Vuitton pattern.

This side of the trunk was a stunning collaboration by Jimin and V.

Next up is a design with various fun elements, including Jin‘s drawing of a green Louis Vuitton handbag he once carried.

J-Hope, meanwhile, added the eye-catching monochrome heart with bright yellow and green letters.

The final side features Suga‘s gorgeous rainbow illustration. While the background may look like abstract scribbles at first, it’s actually made up of “LV” written in Hangul over and over.

And, of course, you can’t forget the top of the trunk. The impressive work of Jungkook, this drawing features a 3D impression of the “LV” logo made up of various colored stripes.

They obviously knew what they wanted to express,” said Louis Vuitton’s visual image director, Faye McLeod, of BTS’s designs, adding that the group returned their submission “very quickly.”

BTS’s trunk design, along with the 199 others, will be digitized by Louis Vuitton so they can be shared across Instagram and Twitter. Following that, the trunks will go on auction at Sotheby’s in December, with all proceeds set to be donated to an undecided charity organization.
