BESTie‘s UJi has been announced as a cast member for the Korean version of the musical, “Dreamgirls.”
“Dreamgirls” first debuted as a popular Broadway musical on December 20, 1981 based off of Tom Eyen‘s book. The musical became an instant hit, receiving six awards for different categories in the Tony Awards.
As the phenomenal Broadway musical stretched out to different states, in 2006, a movie was made from the musical. “Dreamgirls” starred Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, and others. Following this popular story, Korea will be releasing yet another version of “Dreamgirls.”
On January 12, BESTie’s UJi was casted to play the role of Beyonce in the musical “Dreamgirls.” The musical is expected to hit the stage next month in February at the Charlotte Theater in Seoul.
BESTie is currently preparing for their comeback which will be released within the first half of 2015.
