The SBS drama (premieres simultaneously on Netflix) follows Shin Ha Ri (Kim Sejeong, also known as Kim Se Jeong), who pretends to be her friend on a blind date. However, that blind date happens to be with the CEO of her company, Kang Tae Moo (Ahn Hyo Seop)! The troubles start when Tae Moo unexpectedly sets his eyes on marrying Ha Ri, still thinking she is her friend.

The drama is filled with tons of hilarious moments as not only are the writers skilled at jokes, but each actor has excellent comedic timing. It turns out the actors deserve even more credit…

One of the most iconic moments thus far in Business Proposal is the “slap scene” in Episode 6. By this time, Tae Moo has recognized that his feelings for Ha Ri are real but is unsure how to communicate them to her. So, he sets up some dates disguised as business trips, such as a movie screening, claiming it was for research purposes. Yet, viewers could tell it was clearly meant to be a date as he picked out snacks for them and rented out the most expensive theater.

Still, Ha Ri ended up running into coworkers at the cinema. So, she returned to the theater to warn him that they would need to be careful not to run into them.

Yet, the two coworkers ended up wandering into their theater. Ha Ri slapped Tae Moo’s face continually in a panic, signaling him to move out.

This physical comedy and Ahn Hyo Seop’s facial reactions were too hilarious. It’s become one of the viewers’ favorite scenes of the whole K-Drama thus far.

It’s even become a new meme!

Well, it turns out that we may have Kim Sejeong to thank for it…

By the looks of it, Kim Sejeong had improvised the slap! She didn’t even intend to slap Ahn Hyo Seop originally.

The way Ahn Hyo Seop handled it was perfect too. He’s a true professional and a gentleman.

Ahn Hyo Seop: I’m gonna go watch you from over there while touching/soothing my cheek.

After filming it, Sejeong apologized for slapping Hyo Seop. Thankfully, the actor made a sacrifice for the art!

Kim Sejeong: I hit your face?! I’m sorry, I had no idea.

Kim Hyeon Sook: You gave him a good massage.

Kim Sejeong: I smacked around pretty hard, too!

Kim Hyeon Sook: Smack, smack!

Ahn Hyo Seop: Yeah, it made me move a lot faster.

Kim Sejeong: (Laughs)

Kim Hyeon Sook: Oh, so it did help with acting!

It’s all making sense now… Despite being absolutely hilarious, the slap didn’t feel forced or fake as some outlandish moments can sometimes.

Fans applaud the actors for this scene as a result. Kim Sejeong and Ahn Hyo Seop are comedic geniuses!
