Two women in their 30s have been sentenced to probation by the court for using illegal means to attempt sitting close to their favorite idol on the plane.
Ms. A (34), who was charged for violating the law regarding the promotion of information and communication network use and protection of information, was sentenced to 6 months in prison, 2 years in probation, and 160 hours of community service.
Ms. B (30), who was charged for obstruction of business, was charged to 4 months in prison, 2 years in probation, and 160 hours of community service.
According to the sentencing, Ms. A illegally obtained the list of business passengers of a flight that was supposed to be boarded by a member of an idol group on October 25, 2019. The list contained the names and reservation numbers of the passengers, and Ms. A and Ms. B used it to cancel their seat reservations.
It was later revealed that they committed the crimes in order to sit closer to their favorite idol.
