When it comes to K-Pop idols, everyone has their own opinion on who their favorite groups are and which idols are paving the way for the future. In particular, fourth-generation groups have gained attention for paving the way for the future of K-Pop.
Recently, Cosmopolitan Korea conducted several K-Pop surveys from favorite lightsticks, rising stars, and much more. One that gained attention from fans was one that asked teenagers which male K-Pop groups they thought are paving the way for the 4th generation, and here were their picks.
1. THE BOYZ
Debuting in the final month of 2017, many K-Pop fans consider THE BOYZ as part of the fourth generation, and the group has slowly but surely been gaining attention worldwide. With their unique sound, synchronicity, and catchy concepts, the group is seen as one of the most underrated groups but seems to have caught the attention of Korean fans cementing their place at number one.
In particular, their success in Mnet‘s Road To Kingdom and Kingdom over the last few years has showcased just how talented they are and earned a new stream of global fans. By being a big group, it would be easy for some to be lost in the mix. Yet, each member is unique, and their own personalities allow them to shine equally!
In the past, TXT has been called the “4th generation it-boys,” so it is no surprise that the group has made it to second place on the list. Since debuting in 2019, the members have caught the attention of global fans for their immense talent, charming personalities, and effortless style.
With no fixed roles within the group, the members have been able to showcase how talented they all are and are helping to break down roles that have existed in K-Pop for years. Whenever they step on stage, they give fans something different, making sure to allow their versatility to shine!
3. Stray Kids
When it comes to groups that have gained attention for their performance skills and paving the way for K-Pop, it is impossible to forget Stray Kids. Since debuting in 2018, they have amassed many achievements and recently won Mnet’s Kingdom!
One of the stand-out things about Stray Kids’ is their status as a self-producing group, with members Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin (known as 3racha) writing and producing nearly all of the group’s songs. Combined with their immense on-stage presence, it is no surprise that they continue to gain popularity on a global scale.
In particular, their fresh and diverse performances have been a stand-out for the group. Despite being so young, each member has cemented their status as strong performers, bringing fans so much joy and energy whenever they step on stage. Not even a year into their careers, the members still have so much to show to fans.

Many fans were surprised to see ATEEZ with the lowest percentage in the survey. With eight completely different and charismatic members, it is no surprise they have gained so much love.
In particular, the group has been seen as “Kings of Performance” with their unique concepts and intense stage presence. During Kingdom, they continuously wowed fans with diverse performances showcasing singing, rapping, and performance skills in a number of genres.
