5 Times K-Pop Idols Were Asked Inappropriate Questions

Some of these will break your heart!

K-Pop idols always have to be prepared when doing things like interviews, as they are sometimes asked inappropriate or disrespectful questions. Here’s a list of times when K-Pop idols were asked these kinds of questions.

1. BTS getting asked about their past plagiarism allegation

During BTS’s press conference for their album, “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA”, one reporter decided to ask the members about past allegations that the concept of “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” was plagiarized from a French photographer’s work.

I brought up ‘WINGS’ and ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ because I wanted to know if… was it plagiar… plagiarizing? I wanted to know more about the issues brought up by the French photographer.

I know this question can be uncomfortable but I wanted to hear what you had to say.

The members showed some shocked reactions, as this was an incident that happened years ago.

Thankfully, Suga was able to answer this question professionally.

In regards to that, our company’s legal team is talking to the photographer. I believe that our official stance will be the same as our company’s. Our company is currently looking into it, so I’m sure we’ll know when the results come out.

Thank you.

— Suga

2. MONSTA X not being focused on

MONSTA X performed at Madison Square Garden as a part of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2018, and this was a big moment for them. Entertainment show Access decided to interview the members after their performance, but midway through, decided to change the focus of the interview to BTS’s Grammy nomination.

Did you hear that BTS got a Grammy nomination today?

While MONSTA X answered the question respectfully, fans were furious at the interviewer for not focusing on MONSTA X’s achievement.

3. Park Bom getting asked about Seungri’s scandal

In 2019, Park Bom was having a comeback showcase for her song “Spring” and decided to answer some questions from reporters. One reporter decided to ask her about her former label, YG Entertainment, as well as Seungri.

The reporter asked Park Bom what she thought about the continuous scandals YG Entertainment was involved in, as well as her thoughts about Seungri’s scandals. Park Bom was surprised by the sudden question but answered it professionally.

I had a lot of work, and I only learned about the scandals recently. It’s my former label, so there’s nothing I can really say about it.
