5 Times BTS Were Savages And Decided To Throw Some Shade

Number 5 is legendary.

While the BTS members are known for their kind personalities, that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been moments when they were absolute savages. Here are a few times when the BTS members were savages and decided to throw some shade.

1. Suga shutting up haters who accused BTS of lip-syncing

In 2017, some haters tried accusing BTS of lip-syncing, and Suga decided to respond to them during the 2017 SBS Gayo Daejun. During BTS’s performance of “Mic Drop”, Suga stopped rapping midway through his performance and stared at the camera with a small smirk as the track continued without his voice, shutting down the haters who accused BTS of lip-syncing.

2. Jin throwing shade at those who manipulate music charts

In 2019, there were lots of artists who were accused of sajaegi, also known as chart manipulation. When BTS won “Song of the Year” at the 2019 MAMA, Jin decided to speak about this issue during their acceptance speech.

I really want us to live in a world where all of those songs are heard and get the recognition they deserve. I know there are some negative ways to do this, but music should be done in an honest way. I look forward to living in a world where music is produced in good faith and heard in good faith.

3. Suga throwing shade at Billboard interviewers

While the BTS members are always respectful when doing interviews, they seemingly always get asked the same questions when doing interviews with Billboard. During a live broadcast, Suga decided to throw some shade at these kinds of interviews. During the live broadcast, the members were a bit quiet, and Suga then asked them, “Who do you want to collaborate with?”. This is a question that BTS gets asked all the time when doing interviews.

J-Hope immediately responded to the question and asked Suga if they were interviewing with Billboard.

The other members couldn’t help but laugh due to how accurate Suga was.

4. BTS dissing Big Hit Entertainment

While BTS has a great relationship with the people at Big Hit Entertainment, they did once release a diss track towards the company. Before their debut, BTS released a song called “A Typical Trainee’s Christmas”, where they dissed the company for not letting them date and for making them practice during Christmas.

I have no girlfriend because our debut is soon. Ha, idols are getting married yet we separate male and female trainees? What’s the point? We can’t love so how do we write love songs? If it were up to me, I’d encourage dating.

— RM

Our boss is indifferent, even three years ago. We’ve never had the dinner outing that everybody else has. Outside, it’s like a party but us guys are bunched up together like it’s the army. This year, I’ll either be practicing or sitting alone in a corner. Nothing changes no matter how hard I try, I’m solo. But boss, we don’t want a solo victory. We just want a dinner outing.

5. BTS’s rap line dissing B-Free

Before Suga and RM debuted in BTS, they were active as underground rappers. Their decision to become idols didn’t sit well with rapper B-Free, as he dissed them for this decision, as he didn’t view idols as rappers.

You guys (Suga and RM) could have taken the road towards becoming rappers, but you couldn’t beat that temptation. Is BTS’s music hip hop? Is wearing makeup on stage like a girl hip-hop?

— B-Free

B-Free faced massive backlash for his comments, as he was not only disrespecting RM and Suga, but also all idol rappers. Due to this, BTS’s rap line decided to release a diss track targeting B-Free, and they didn’t hold back at all.

Overspending on my pens that are more in number than your (B-Free) fans, if I go all in and shoot, it’s a goal in. Goal in, I’m ballin, when I hear your rap, I’m about to throw up.
