1. Sera (Former member of Nine Muses)

In a clip from MBN‘s Miss Back, Sera revealed that she takes medication for depression and panic disorder. Sera was also shown getting up in the middle of the night to eat some pizza and cake. However, she didn’t remember any of this.

This symptom is commonly known as somnambulism, which is caused by medication taken for depression. Sera also couldn’t contain her tears when she expressed that she hopes to overcome this.

I’m a singer, too. So I really want to get better soon.

2. Momo (TWICE)

During an episode of TWICE: Seize The Light, Momo shared that when she first became a trainee, she was extremely timid when it came to vocal lessons. She even revealed that she feared attending vocal classes and that she would cry before classes even started.

The reason why Momo was so fearful was that she believed she was a bad singer.

Thankfully, Momo didn’t let this stop her, as she continued to push herself and continuously attended classes and practiced.

3. Chaeryeong (ITZY)

Chaeryeong got revealed to the public from an early age, and she has had to deal with a lot of malicious netizens from an early age. Even when she was told that she was going to debut, she thought that it “all meant nothing” due to these malicious netizens.

I don’t know why, but after becoming the debut team which I had dreamed of for so long, I thought it all meant nothing if I was already being hated like this.

— Chaeryeong

Even now, Chaeryeong still has to deal with malicious netizens. She even confessed that due to these malicious netizens, she tends to stand on the side of pictures or tries not to stand out.

Thankfully, Chaeryeong remained strong throughout all of this and tries her best to stay positive.

Now that I have fans who are rooting for me, if they knew that I’m being shaken by a few mean comments, I think that would make them sad too. So I tell myself not to get sad, time is too precious. I try to control the negative thoughts like that.

4. Sally (gugudan)

Sally recently revealed that gugudan’s agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, had told all the members to leave their dorm and to never return. While some of the gugudan members tried to resist this, they were ultimately unsuccessful.

At the beginning of 2019, my agency told me to go back home. When I asked them when I should come back, they told me there was no need to come back.

An official statement was never made by Jellyfish Entertainment, and fans fear that gugudan has now disbanded.

5. Jang Jane

Jang Jane might not be an idol, but she recently made a post on her Instagram with a caption that shared her past experience of being sexually assaulted.

Jang Jane shared that her perpetrator was also a victim, as he was forced to sexually assault her, stating that he was being bullied.

One winter, I was just passing by and they saw me. They apparently promised that if he did that to me, they wouldn’t bother him.

— Jang Jane

While this doesn’t excuse his actions, Jang Jane did wonder if the person was really at fault.

The reason why it was hard for me to hear about this reason, is that if he is a victim too, what does that make me? What becomes of my experience? That was what crushed my heart the most.

— Jang Jane

Years later, she now realizes that it’s possible to separate the two issues and that she should no longer feel guilty about it. However, she did also reveal that she wished someone had told her this back then.

Now, as I have become a little more of an adult and I am able to separate things looking back, I think that it would’ve been great if there was someone that told me that it wasn’t my fault that it had happened.

— Jang Jane

She concluded her message by talking about how she hopes to help comfort those who experienced similar things as she did.

I hope that perhaps, just perhaps, I will be able to become a strength as I sing, to someone that experiences similar things as I did.
