5 K-Dramas That Ended Up Getting Canceled Due To Unexpected Situations

A lot of K-Dramas have run into unfortunate situations, which has caused many producers to make difficult decisions. Here are a few K-Dramas that essentially ended up getting canceled due to some unexpected situations.

1. Prometheus

Prometheus was an anticipated K-Drama that was going to feature Ha Ji Won and Jin Goo.

However, Ha Ji Won soon left the cast due to filming constantly getting pushed back, which eventually led to scheduling conflicts. MBC, which was the broadcasting network that was going to air Prometheus, soon announced that they no longer planned on airing the show. After all this, Jin Goo decided to drop out of the K-Drama.

2. School 2020

School 2020 was originally going to air sometime in August 2020, and it was going to feature Kim Yohan and Ahn Seo Hyun.

However, some conflict started to arise when Ahn Seo Hyun’s father started to make excessive demands to the producers of the show. Ahn Seo Hyun was soon removed from the cast due to all of this. The producers of the show then offered the female lead to Kim Sae Ron.

However, KBS soon decided that they would not be airing School 2020 on their network. In the end, School 2020 was rebranded to School 2021, and was broadcast on… KBS, who turned back on their initial decision and carried the program.

3. Four Sons

Four Sons was a highly anticipated K-Drama that was going to be led by Park Hae Jin and Nana.

The show soon ran into problems when the production company started to give unreasonable requests and were not paying their staff members. After this, a lot of the cast members dropped out of the show, such as Nana. It even got to the point where Park Hae Jin filed a lawsuit against the production company of Four Sons.

4. So I Married An Anti-Fan

The K-Drama version of So I Married An Anti-Fan was going to feature Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung and Choi Tae Joon.

However, the production team of the show was unable to find a broadcasting station to air the show, and the K-Drama never got broadcast on television. In April 2021, it was finally broadcast through Naver TV, almost three years after filming started.

5. Wolf

Wolf was originally going to be a 16 episode K-Drama, but it got canceled after 3 episodes. The filming got delayed due to some of the cast members getting injured, such as the lead male actor, Eric.

While Wolf was originally going to resume filming once the cast members recovered from their injuries, constant postponements caused the show to get canceled.
