5 Groups From Small Companies Who Have A Solid International Fanbase

They’re popular abroad.

Some K-Pop groups are more popular locally, others internationally, and a few have a fairly distributed fanbase. While they all have their own perks, being famous abroad has advantages such as having more mentions on social media sites like Twitter and notably more views on YouTube.

More importantly, there are a number of K-Pop groups who are famous internationally even if they don’t come from large entertainment agencies like SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and BigHit Entertainment. Check them out below!

While KQ Entertainment manages Seven Seasons, BLOCK B‘s company, it became well-known in itself thanks to ATEEZ. The boy group debuted in 2018 to the excitement of international fans who loved their intense dance moves and funny personalities.

They even won “Worldwide Fan’s Choice” in the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

2. EVERGLOW

EVERGLOW is a girl group under Yuehua Entertainment, a large company in China but a small one in South Korea. Despite this, they made a splash of a debut in 2019 with “Bon Bon Chocolat” and every music video since then has raked in tens of millions of views. Their top-viewed video, “DUN DUN”, even has over 140 million views!

3. LOONA

LOONA has had a powerhouse fandom ever since pre-debut. Orbits continuously break records for the girl group, such as charting them #1 in the USA overall album chart on iTunes, selling thousands of albums, and helping them win “Best Korean Act” in the MTV Europe Music Awards.

4. MONSTA X

STARSHIP Entertainment is a small but well-known company thanks to SISTAR, and it became even more famous thanks to MONSTA X. Monbebes are a particularly large fandom internationally as can be seen in the group’s frequent additions to Billboard‘s coveted Social 50 chart.

Their all-English album, ALL ABOUT LUV, even debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. With their many appearances in overseas shows, they’ve proven to be a well-loved K-Pop act abroad.

5. Dreamcatcher

Finally, Dreamcatcher has had a solid international fanbase ever since they re-debuted from MINX into Dreamcatcher in 2017. They became the first girl group to tour in major European cities such as London, Madrid, Paris, and more with Fly High.

They even won the “Promising Idol” award in the 2018 Keum Yeong Star Awards, giving more attention to their name and that of their company’s, Happy Face Entertainment.
