2NE1’s Dara gives in to China’s “bean sprout hair pin” trend

2NE1’s Dara transforms into a trendy girl as she succumbs to the antenna-type flower hairpins that has become very popular in China.

On October 16th, Dara shared a cute preview of her new hairpins, alerting her fans of the trend currently dominating China. She posted the photo on her personal Instagram account with the tag saying, “I heard a lot about this hairpin today~~~ I’m a trendy girl in China! Woohoo!!!”

She is not the first artist to have spread the word about the antenna hairpins after G-Dragon caught the hype when he was in China as part of BIGBANG’s MADE Series concert tour. Like Dara, he also posted the trend on his personal Instagram account which earned a number of interesting comments from his followers.

Last August, it was reported that the antenna-type flower hair accessories, which originally started in the tourist areas of Chengdu, immediately became a popular trend worn not only by children, but also  men and women of all ages.
